Lanternacamp

Savour unspoilt resorts and Italian flavours along the Istrian peninsula in Croatia. The Istrian peninsula, which juts out into the Adriatic sea, was for 400 years ruled from Venice, hence a strong Italian influence in architecture and food, and the fact that every place has an alternative, Italian, name. The main tourist towns are Porec (Parenzo) and Rovinj (Rovigno), both postcard Venetian ports with horseshoe harbours, tightly packed on to rocky headlands surrounded by sparklingly clear water and a hinterland of red soil forested hills.
